Boss Overview

Guangzhi was not a monk when he was young, but a little wolf demon who really wanted to become human.

He often transformed into a human and went to the town to play, but he was always exposed by people and chased. He asked other little demons for reasons, and they all said, “Although you look like a human, you don’t have the human touch, so you will naturally be recognized. If you want to learn to be human, you should stay with humans, interact with them, and learn their etiquette and habits.”

He agreed, and went to ask the king for help. His king, Lingxu, was very familiar with the black bear demon in the mountains, and the black bear demon transformed him into a little monk, recommending him to the elder Jinchi who discussed Chan together as a disciple.

At first, the monks in the temple didn’t like him, and often played tricks on him. He was always unsuspectingly fooled. The old monk gave him the Dharma name Guangzhi, hoping that he would be clever and sharp, and no longer be bullied by his fellow monks. Under the guidance of the old monk, Guangzhi learned to read and write, and gradually integrated the rules and precepts of the monks.

One day, two disciples came to the temple, one was a round-faced fat monk, and the other was a hairy monk with a loud voice. They brought a brocade cassock, a treasure that the old monk had never seen before. The old monk wanted it badly, and Guangzhi wanted to repay the kindness of the old monk, so he carefully calculated for him.

Guangzhi never expected that, just because of his one wrong thought, a red wave of fire engulfed the entire familiar Zen temple. After that, the old monk committed suicide, Lingxu died at the hands of the Golden Hoop, and even the black bear demon was subdued and sent to the South Sea. He deeply felt that he had implicated many people, and affirmed that he had failed as a human being, so he abandoned his monk identity, returned to the mountain, followed the Buddha’s teachings taught by the old monk, and sincerely repented. During the days of cultivation in the mountains, he forged a new weapon named “Chicha” based on the sea of fire he saw all over the mountains that night. Even many years later, he could still hear the call from the mountains: Guangzhi, Guangzhi! Who exactly is calling him incessantly?
